S-QUIRE CROSSES PATHS WITH LEGENDARY DIRECTOR ZODIAC “FISHGREASE”

Passion (from the Latin verb patī meaning to suffer) is a term applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something.

S-quire started making music because of his PASSION for the craft and eventually making his dreams come true as a aspiring hip-hop artist. After recording “How we do” S-quire immediately sought the stage performing at clubs such as Club Pyramid and the Bowery on  the lower eastside and Public Assembly, networking and looking to meet true wholesome and honest people in the bizness as they call it. It was through that and a mutual friend S-quire met Legendary Director Zodiac “Fishgrease” and assisted him on the set of up & coming artist Gavonnie Video Premier of “Drinks” which S-quire also was able to secure his first video appearance. Who is Zodiac you might ask?

ZODIAC FISHGREASE N’Gai Members (aka) Zodiac Fishgrease, comes from a professional music Family. His parents and his uncle wrote the famous song “Thin Line Between Love and Hate” and other classic hits. Zodiac started in the industry as a young rapper/break dancer. Eventually he met Lionel C. Martin of Classic Concepts videos and Ralph McDaniels of Video Music Box. He soon became a Production Assistance (P.A) where he worked on many video shoots for famous artist like Jodeci, Boys to Men, TLC, Public Enemy and BBD of New Edition. Soon he became hooked on the video end of the business. Zodiac also worked along side the famous director Hype Williams. After perfecting his craft, Zodiac struck out on his own to start his on company. How Zodiac came up with the attention getting name of “Fishgrease ” his friend, “

Big Daddy Kane one day commented, that his videos was hot as “Fishgrease”!Fishgrease films was officially launched in 1998. Among his clients was Trick Daddy and Trina. Zodiac  directed the colorful videos “Nann and Shut Up” that help to establish both of their careers and won him one platinum and one gold award. He also received one gold for Foxy Brown’s “Candy” — Other artists that Zodiac shot videos for include: Foxy Brown, Static Ft. R Kelly, Do or Die, Mr Cheeks, Mario Winans and Queen Latifah, who received a grammy nomination for the song, “Go Head” but it was the video that helped get her there. Zodiac took a hiatus to film a movie called “Cash Rules” starring Treach of the legendary group Naughty by Nature and JD Williams from the Hit T.V show on H.B.O called “The Wire”. He also filmed and directed a documentary on the legendary New Editions.
